Building a relationship

(After the meeting at the lobby of the hotel then the restaurant)

Host/Guide:

Here we are at Villa Cofresí Hotel & Restaurant. I have your reservation set for you. You’ll be staying here.  This is one of the best hotels on the west coast of the island and it’s also right next to the beach. They have a really good restaurant as well, where they have local cuisine.

Visitor:

Wow! This hotel is fantastic.

Host/ Guide:

I’m glad you like it. Shall we go in to the restaurant?

Visitor:

Yes, I’m delighted to know about the local cuisine. What do you recommend?

Host/Guide:

I recommend the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and monfongo on the side. Mofongo is one of our signature dishes, is made out of mashed plantains, seasoned with garlic and other spices. It’s really good.

Visitor:

That sounds delicious! Let’s order that and a piña colada.

Host/Guide:

Okay.

Visitor:

Mmm. I’ve never eaten mashed plantains before, this meal was exquisite.

Host/Guide:

I’m so glad you liked and enjoyed it. I hope you can rest tonight and I’ll see you tomorrow for our tour. Pick you up at 9:00 am?

Visitor:

Yes, that time is perfect. Thank you for everything. Good night.

Host/Guide:

Have a good night.

Visitor:

Good Morning!

Host/Guide:

Well, hello! Good Morning. How was your night?

Visitor:

It was great; I had a great night sleep. I’m so excited about today.

Host/ Guide:

Then I would like to show you one of our beautiful landmarks on the west coast: Rincón’s lighthouse. This is where you can see all the west coast and the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Shall we go?

Visitor:

Then let’s go. I’m all set.

(Later at El Faro de Rincón)

Host/Guide:

Here we are at the lighthouse of Rincón. Isn’t it beautiful?

Visitor:

Oh, gosh. I’ve never seen anything so beautiful and relaxing. You can even see land over there.

Host/Guide:

Yeah, that’s Isla de Mona, Mona Island. It’s a nature reserve, which is protected by the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources. People can’t live there, but I’ve been told it’s beautiful.

Visitor:

Is it between here and the Dominican Republic?

Host/Guide:

It is indeed.

Visitor:

Wow, all of this is so interesting, and I’ve learned so much on this trip.

Host/Guide:

Well, I’m glad that I had the chance to show you a little bit of our precious island.
